Free tools for dividend investors

DividendProjection shows you, in plain dollars, what a dividend ETF could pay you over time. No sign-up, no paywall, no sales pitch.

Why this exists

Most dividend calculators are either buried behind an account, stuffed with outdated yields, or so complicated you give up before you get an answer. We wanted the opposite: type in what you'd invest, pick a fund, and immediately see what it could pay you each month.

DividendProjection is built by a dividend investor with more than ten years of experience, for other dividend investors. The goal is simple: share genuinely useful tools for free and help more people see how steady, reinvested income can add up over time.

How the calculator works

You enter a starting amount, a monthly deposit, a fund and a number of years. The calculator then steps through every single payout the fund would make, whether that's weekly, monthly or quarterly, adding your deposits, paying out the dividend, taking out tax if you've set a rate, and reinvesting the rest if you've chosen to.

To keep the math honest and easy to follow, it assumes the share price never changes and that dividends stay flat unless you add a growth rate yourself. Real markets won't behave that way, so treat every result as an illustration rather than a forecast. The disclaimer explains every assumption in detail.

Where the data comes from

Fund data, including yields, expense ratios, payout frequency, assets and ratings, comes from the TopDividendETFsPRO.com database, which is reviewed and updated daily. The everyday expense comparisons, like the average phone bill or rent, come from public sources such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Social Security Administration and the U.S. Energy Information Administration, and each one is linked right on the page.

Part of a family of dividend sites

DividendProjection is owned and operated by Dividend Empire LLC, which also runs a network of free and premium resources for income investors, including TopDividendETFs.com, the TopDividendETFsPRO ranking terminal, WeeklyETFs.com and MonthlyETFs.com. The same team shares dividend research and ideas under the DevotedDividend name on X and YouTube.

How it stays free

The calculator is free to use and always will be. Our sites are supported in part by sponsorships from ETF issuers. Any sponsored placement is clearly labeled, and sponsors never have any say over the calculator's math, the data it uses or the results you see.
