Read this before you rely on a number

DividendProjection is an educational calculator. Its results are hypothetical illustrations built on simplified assumptions, not predictions, promises or advice.

Last updated: September 24, 2026

In short: nothing here is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. The numbers assume a share price that never moves and dividends that never get cut, which real markets won't deliver. You can lose money investing in any ETF. Talk to a qualified professional before making decisions.

Not financial advice

All content, tools, calculations, data and other material on DividendProjection.com (the "Site") are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on the Site is, or should be taken as, financial, investment, tax, legal or accounting advice, or a recommendation, offer or solicitation to buy, sell or hold any security, fund or investment strategy.

Dividend Empire LLC, which owns and operates the Site, is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, tax professional or attorney. Using the Site does not create an adviser-client or any other professional relationship. The Site does not consider your personal financial situation, goals, risk tolerance or tax circumstances.

Projections are hypothetical

Every projection on the Site is a hypothetical illustration. Results do not reflect actual trading or the returns of any real account, and they are not a guarantee, forecast or estimate of what any investment will actually do. Actual results will differ, possibly by a large amount, and may include losses.

Past performance, including any total return or annualized return figure shown for a fund, does not indicate or guarantee future results.

The assumptions behind every result

To keep the math transparent, the calculator deliberately simplifies how funds behave. Unless you change a setting, every projection assumes:

  • The share price never changes. In reality, share prices rise and fall, sometimes sharply. Some high-yield and option-income funds have historically lost share value over time, often called price decay or NAV erosion.
  • The yield stays at today's level. The yield shown is a current snapshot. Distributions are not guaranteed and can be reduced, suspended or eliminated at any time.
  • Dividends don't grow unless you enter a growth rate, and any growth rate you enter is applied smoothly and consistently, which real dividend histories rarely are.
  • Payouts arrive on schedule at the fund's stated frequency, in equal amounts, and are reinvested immediately at the same flat share price if reinvesting is turned on. Real reinvestment may involve fractional-share limits, timing differences or fees.
  • Taxes are applied as one flat rate that you choose, with a default of 0%. Real dividend taxation depends on the type of distribution (qualified, ordinary, return of capital), your income, your state and your account type.
  • Deposits are made evenly across each year and grow only by the rate you choose.
  • No trading costs, account fees or inflation are included. A dollar of dividend income in 20 years will likely buy less than a dollar does today.

Fund expense ratios are generally deducted by the fund before it pays distributions, so the yield already reflects them. The Site's estimate of fees on your balance is for illustration only.

Data accuracy

Fund data comes from the TopDividendETFsPRO.com database and is reviewed and updated daily, but it may still contain errors, omissions or delays, and fund information can change between updates. Yields and other figures may be calculated differently from how a fund issuer or other data provider calculates them. Always confirm current information directly with the fund issuer, including its prospectus, before investing.

We make no representation or warranty that any data on the Site is accurate, complete or current, and we are not responsible for any errors in data or for any decisions made based on it.

Expense comparisons

The "What your dividends could pay for" section compares projected income with national averages for common costs, such as phone bills, rent and median earnings, drawn from public and third-party sources linked on the page. These averages are general figures for the United States, may be out of date, and may not reflect your own costs or location. Median earnings figures are before tax. The comparison is for perspective only.

Investing involves risk

All investments carry risk, including the possible loss of the money you invest. ETFs are subject to market risk, interest rate risk, credit risk, concentration risk, liquidity risk and, for options-based funds, strategy-specific risks that can limit gains and increase losses. Before investing in any fund, read its prospectus carefully and consider its objectives, risks, charges and expenses.

Sponsorships and relationships

Dividend Empire LLC operates a network of investing websites supported in part by sponsorships from ETF issuers. From time to time, the Site or our other sites may feature sponsored content or placements, which will be clearly labeled. Sponsorship is not an endorsement or recommendation of any fund, and sponsors have no influence over the calculator's methodology, data or results.

The people behind the Site may personally own shares of funds that appear on it. Nothing on the Site should be read as a suggestion that you buy or sell any of them.

Talk to a professional

Before making any investment, tax or financial decision, consult a licensed financial adviser, tax professional or attorney who can evaluate your specific situation. By using the Site, you agree that you are solely responsible for your own investment decisions and their results.
