Who we are
DividendProjection.com (the "Site") is owned and operated by Dividend Empire LLC ("we," "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Site, how it's used, and the choices you have. It applies only to this Site. Our other websites have their own policies.
What we collect
Information collected automatically
When you visit, Google Analytics collects standard usage information on our behalf, such as:
- Pages you view, including the full page address (see the next section about calculator settings)
- How you interact with the Site, such as switching funds, changing a setting, downloading a share image or copying a link
- Device and browser type, screen size, operating system and language
- Approximate location (country, region or city) derived from your IP address
- The website or link that referred you, and the date and time of your visit
Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.
Information you choose to give us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and keep a record of the conversation.
What we don't collect
We don't collect your name, mailing address, phone number, Social Security number, brokerage or bank account details, actual holdings, or any payment information. There are no accounts or forms on the Site.
Your calculator settings
The numbers you type into the calculator (amounts, years, tax rate, goals and so on) are processed entirely in your own browser. We don't store them on any server.
To make projections shareable, your settings are written into the page address in your browser's address bar (for example, ?etf=SCHD&a=25000). Because page addresses are part of standard analytics, those settings may be included in the usage data Google Analytics collects for us. They're not linked to your name or identity, and we use them only in aggregate, for example to see which funds and time frames are most popular.
If you share a projection link or a downloaded share image, anyone you share it with will see the settings it contains.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain and improve the Site and its features
- To understand which tools and funds are most useful to visitors
- To measure overall traffic and engagement, including in aggregate, non-identifying reports we may share with current or prospective sponsors
- To find and fix errors, and to protect the Site against abuse and security threats
- To respond to your emails
- To comply with legal obligations
Third-party services
To run the Site, your browser connects to a few outside services. Each one receives basic technical information, like your IP address, in order to deliver its content:
- Google Analytics for usage statistics. Learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Google Sheets, which delivers the live fund data the calculator uses.
- Google Fonts, which delivers the Site's typeface.
- GitHub Pages, which hosts the Site and may keep standard server logs for security and reliability.
The Site also links to other websites, including our own network sites, data sources and fund issuers. Once you leave the Site, their privacy policies apply.
Your choices
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, the Site automatically turns off Google Analytics for your visits.
- Opt out of Google Analytics everywhere with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or browse in a private window.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states with privacy laws, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and elsewhere, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you and how it's used
- Access, correct or delete that information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we don't sell or share it)
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and receive a copy of your data
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Because we don't collect names or accounts, we usually can't link analytics data to a specific person. To make a request, email Business@TopDividendETFs.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We'll respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your request.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the Site to process analytics data, and on your consent where the law requires it.
How long we keep data
Detailed Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically. Aggregate reports that don't identify anyone may be kept longer. Emails are kept only as long as needed to respond and keep reasonable business records.
Children
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security and international visitors
The Site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and we limit the information we collect in the first place. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information.
The Site is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site. Continuing to use the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
