About DIVO

DIVO holds a focused portfolio of roughly 20 to 25 large U.S. companies with histories of dividend growth, chosen by its sub-adviser, Capital Wealth Planning. On top of those dividends, the managers sell covered calls on individual stocks when they think option prices are attractive.

That tactical approach is different from funds that sell index options every month. DIVO writes calls on only part of the portfolio and only some of the time, which lets it keep more upside when stocks rise, at the cost of a lower yield than full-time covered call funds.

The result is a monthly payer with a moderate yield that has aimed for a balance of income and growth since 2016. Its top holdings include names like Microsoft, Apple, Caterpillar, Visa and JPMorgan.
